Vegan Taffy Apple Salad

Based on the side dish that made my Aunt Cindy famous in the Three Rivers-area, here is my take on this fluffy fruit salad.

  • 4 cups Dandies Vegan Mini Marshmallows
  • 3 cups diced Granny Smith apples or whatever apple you prefer
  • 1 20 oz can crushed pineapple drained
  • 1 batch candied walnuts or roasted, salted peanuts if you prefer
  • 1 container vegan whipped topping such as Cocowhip or vegan Truwhip


  • In a large bowl, toss the marshmallows, apples, pineapple and walnuts together.
  • Fold in the vegan whipped topping.
  • Serve immediately, or chill for a few hours and serve the same day. After a few hours the pineapple and other wet ingredients can start to break the marshmallows down, so don't make this one too far ahead of time.


I used this recipe for candied walnuts, but added a bit more salt.
