Update: The contest has now ended, but there are several awesome coupon codes in this post that are good through the end of October so please check out my product recommendations and visit these shops!
A few months ago I rounded up some of my favorite things and did a little giveaway that you guys seemed to like. Since some medical issues I had last year I’ve really been trying to get into self care this year. I get a mani/pedi once a month, I’ve been actually going to the doctor and dentist and not just saying I should, I ditched all my drugstore skincare and have started to replace it, along with my makeup, with natural, organic products, I let less-important emails age in my inbox like a fine wine, and I say no to more things I don’t feel like doing.
So I have gathered up some of my favorite (vegan!) items that I have incorporated into my self-care routine to share with you – some of the makers of these fine items have even agreed to contribute to a giveaway and/or offered coupon codes. So thank you very much to those folks, and good luck to you all!
Bath Sabbath – Honestly, I’m having a hard time condensing the way I feel about Virginia and her amazing products. I found her shop while I was well on my way down an Etsy rabbit hole and have since become a return customer. Her heavy metal-inspired scents range from spicy to smokey and they all fit well within the “forest witch goes to a spooky church” family that I like my scents to fall into. My personal favorites are Fairies Wear Boots and Born of Fire but I wouldn’t kick any of her creations out of bed. Most items are vegan – just check the ingredients. Virginia has generously offered 3 beard oils, 3 1/3 oz. perfume roll-ons and a Seventh Sud of a Seventh Stud soap set all in the scents of the winner’s choosing to the winner of this giveaway. Plus, she’s offering 15% off for Bake and Destroy readers with code BATHEANDDESTROY so shop now! (Coupon valid 9/26 – 10/15)
Last Craft – I spotted Amanda’s Morrissey prayer candle from across the room at a Paper Moon Pastry event a few months back and was instantly smitten. Since then, I’ve purchased several more of her candles, including a Siouxsie Sioux altar candle as a gift for my punk rock hero Theo Kogan (more on her later). These are my new must haves for candle-lit baths, I’m sure you can see why. Amanda is offering the winner of this giveaway one of her Love manifestation altar candles. She’s also giving my readers 15% off with the code DESTROY. Go shopping! (Coupon valid 9/26 – 10/31)
Armour Beauty – If you spent the night at my house anytime in high school than you are already familiar with the Lunachicks, but if you did not, please take a moment to go YouTube some videos. Go ahead, I’ll wait. Now that you’re back, I’m happy to tell you that lead singer Theo Kogan has since become a successful makeup artist and creator of a pretty stellar lip gloss company called Armour Beauty. Recently the brand launched their first 100% vegan lip gloss, Brigitte, and is coming out with two more in October. My favorite of the new line is Funhouse, which is a bright raspberry named after The Stooges’ album – and guess what? The winner of this giveaway is going to win a Funhouse gloss of his or her very own!
Thesis Beauty – As I mentioned, I’ve been replacing all my synthetic skincare and makeup with natural stuff lately. I figured I go through all this effort to eat real, healthy food, why rub a bunch of chemical sludge on my body’s largest organ? I was concerned (for some reason) that natural products wouldn’t be effective, but I swear by all the skincare products I’ve used from Thesis Beauty. All of their products are vegan and organic, which is amazing, and I am particularly in love with the Unscented Face Serum and Strawberry Dessert Face Mask. Thesis Beauty is offering the Strawberry Dessert Mask to the winner of my giveaway – one of the ways you can enter is by voting for them in Martha Stewart’s American Made contest – but please vote even if you aren’t entering the giveaway because it would be amazing for a vegan company to win!
Herbivore Botanicals – My friend Jessica gifted me some Herbivore Botanicals items for my last birthday and I became and instant believe in their Bamboo Charcoal Soap. All of their products are 100% natural and plant-based, but none of that stops this soap from drawing all the crud out of your skin and leaving behind a brighter, cleaner complexion. I really love their simple, unisex packaging and have purchased their beard oil for Tony even though he constantly forgets to use it. You can save 25% on your order with code BAKE25 through 10/31/14.
Petit Vour – If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed my posts about Petit Vour. Every month I receive a box of vegan beauty goodies from this company which allows me to test drive everything from serums to perfumes to color cosmetics without a major financial commitment. (It’s $15 a month!) Like other subscription boxes you fill out a profile to help them choose items that suit you best, but unlike many other boxes the items inside are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. The winner of this giveaway will receive the Petit Vour September Box, which was co-curated by vegan beauty blogger Logical Harmony.

Good stuff!
Wow!! I love your choices! Need to try all of them!!!
Great choices! I would love to win. I try to only use and eat organic items. I am highly allergic to many smells, so organic products are the best for me. Thanks for the contest!
not available in Canada …booooo
Did I win? Did I win? Some nifty ass stuff you got there!
I am allergic to everything and as a result am too cheap and too poor to hit and miss on makeup . Perhaps the vegan route would be the way to go and hopefully I will not end up with a face full of hives
Incredible chance- thank you! I’ve been completely changing my lifestyle over the past year and this would be an amazing addition to everything I’ve been working towards .
Awesome!
